The Teamwork Platform connects users across Atlassian tools, streamlining collaboration and workflow. We’re seeking a Design Lead to steer the design direction for this platform, overseeing discovery, prioritization, and quality of work for a multi-product user base. This role will lead a team focused on scalable, collaborative, and global design solutions and enhance design capabilities within the Teamwork Platform and Atlassian overall.

Working at Atlassian

This remote position is open to candidates in Australia and New Zealand with sufficient timezone overlap. Atlassians can choose to work from home, the office, or a mix of both, with virtual interviews and onboarding as part of our distributed-first approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead impactful, large-scale design projects across the platform.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and other partners to shape and execute the delivery strategy.
• Mentor designers and influence design culture and processes.
• Contribute to design improvements at both team and organizational levels.
• Work across all Atlassian products and ensure strategic alignment with Teamwork Platform Design Management.

Roles and Responsibilities

Extensive experience in the UX / design craft

Strong visual and motion skills

Significant experience with designing & building large scale web software

A track record of execution and delivering results

Familiarity with agile software design methodologies & tooling

Ability to drive design excellence, pushing innovation and quality

Strong organization and communication skills

Experience with distributed teams
